In Left 4 Dead 2, you will become aware of the "Midnight Riders" band and get a dose of their Southern rock riffs. In 1993 they won a Grammy for Most Pyrotechnics in a Single Concert 1.

In game the other night I wondered if the music was available anywhere as every road trip collection needs a good dose of driving guitar rhythm sprinkled in. This morning I realized that of course it is, it's right on the hard drive already. It was a long week, give me a break.

  • Find your L4D2 installation directory and go down into the sound\music\flu directory
    • <steaminstalldir>\steamapps\common\left 4 dead 2\left4dead2\sound\music\flu\

There will be two directories here: concert and jukebox. Concert contains two tracks from the Dark Carnival Finale and Jukebox contains 5 tracks. In game I have never heard tracks 3 and 4 playing on the jukebox, but they are in the directory. Each track is mixed with the classic album pops and hiss that have gone the way of extinction with CD media.

Concert

   - Midnight Ride
   - One Bad Man

Jukebox

   - Bad Man
   - Midnight Ride
   - Portal Still Alive
   - Re: Your Brains
   - The Saints Will Never Come

Be sure to give Re: Your Brains a listen, maybe grab a lighter and hold someone close, then get ready for them to eat your brains while you sing the chorus.

All we wanna do is eat your brains,
We're not unreasonable,
I mean no one is gonna eat your eyes

All we wanna do is eat your brains,
We're at an impass here
Maybe we should compromise'
