Ran into a huge issue with iTunes not starting and crashing out with an offset error in iTunes.exe. Tried multiple reinstalls of 7.2 and all failed. Finally performed the following:

  • Uninstalled Itunes
  • Uninstalled Quicktime
  • Searched for 'Apple' on the hard drive: deleted all programs
  • Searched for 'iTunes' on the hard drive: deleted all programs
  • Searched for 'Quicktime' on the hard drive: deleted all programs
  • Open the registry: removed all Apple registry hives
  • Ran CCLeaner on the registry
  • Went to OldApps.com and downloaded the following versions of iTunes:
    • 4.1, 4.8, 6.05
  • Installed 4.1 (no reboot)
  • Ran 4.1
  • Quicktime not installed
  • Installed current Quicktime
  • Ran 4.1
  • Installed 4.8 (no reboot)
  • Ran 4.8
  • Installed 6.05 (no reboot & iPod support)
  • Ran 6.05
  • Installed 7.02 (downloaded three weeks ago)
  • Ran 7.02
  • Agreed to program update

Updating my podcast feeds now. I may need to consider tweaking the Synch program to work with iTunes.
